Collection 3 is where the realism stops and the imagination and pure art theory begins,
"Art for Art Sake"
The joy of discovery, for me as I work and you the viewer seeing images you won't have seen before, some challenging some easily understood, but spend some time to let them open up for you.
Enjoy :-)
Below is a collection of the paintings I have created this past year
2018 Acrylic on canvas 70x90cms Designed on line and pattern, this painting represents the ripples of the transparent ocean with white caps rolling across the surface
2018 60x90cms, Acrylic on canvas.
First of the harbour paintings dealing with water reflection and design possibilities.
2018 Acrylic on canvas 60x90cms Design influenced by Utopian artists, central Australia, this painting describes the rocky headland, vegetation, surf and the "sand-blow".
2018 Acrylic on canvas 60x90cms. Aerial design of Waddy Point. based on a contour design the painting outlines the Hills, beaches, sand-blows and sand tracks.
2019 Acrylic on canvas 60x90cms. Lakes II, is a multi-dimensional painting, layer upon layer, each one allowing the previous one to show through, creating the impression of depth. Lakes II is taken from an aerial perspective depicting a window lake, and sand blow which is causing a Barrage lake to form, it shows to lowering levels of the water table forming rings around the lakes
2019 Acrylic on canvas 45x70cms Working study for later works Elegance and Black Opal. Fluid design in water with faint sky reflections.
2019 Acrylic on canvas 120x150cms
incorporating design to give the illusion of depth, Elegance is the colour of the shallows, refracting light the subtle tonal values of the foam changing contrasts as it rises up the face of the wave, the lip poised, its elegant line frozen in time. This is quite a large canvas and looks very impressive on the wall.
2019 Acrylic on canvas, 75x120cms. Latest and greatest work I have done, Black opal speaks volumes, once on the wall, I never tired of looking into its deceptive clean/ clear water. It is simply a black rock in shallow water, viewed from one perspective, but from an artist's point of view, it is not just a short story but a complete novel, on design, technique, colour and a tribute to the beauty of nature that can be found below your feet, in the shallows.
This is a dynamic site still under construction. New works, sections, and exhibitions including prints and sculptural items coming soon. click more to learn more about the artist >>
